evo 9 stock ecu can handle up to 500whp?
You can make 500whp with the stock ECU on other turbos, that's not the issue. You cannot make unlimited power on the stock ECU, because it runs out of resolution. It has an actual limit to what it can do in terms of providing a proper tune. AEM EMS will almost always (if not always) make more power, all things being equal.
There are ways around that, especially with a DRAG ONLY car where the RPM's will only be above 5,000 rpms anyways where you can fine tune say a 5000-10000 map where the rest is minimal.
Also, when you said 500WHP on a stock intake, did you mean intake manifold or the stock plastic airbox and paper filter?
I think the stroker however can get away more so with using ECU while high revving 2.0s will need standalone since they are going to higher in the rev range where there are no inputs.
dude you have over 1000 posts. do you ever learn anything? do you ever
search and read? questions u ask are unbelieveable sometimes. and the reason why u want is bcuz u felt like peeing on your friends car?? lolz. u said.. no more modding after u blew your last motor. ?? go figure
i can see why warr is gettin frustrated with you and im not usually on his side either

A 2.3 stroked GT35R that you never race and use for chilling on the highway? That could be the dumbest thing I've ever heard, but then again, some of your previous threads could be considered worse.
No 2.3 stroker with GT35R is going to be considered "very reliable," and no one ever said the stock ECU is more reliable than an AEM EMS. What gave you that idea? The tuning device won't determine if it's a reliable setup or not, but you CAN make 500whp with those mods on the stock ECU with alky or meth injection. Your car will not be much like stock, though, sorry. You will have a LOT of mods to run a built, stroked motor with a big turbo pushing 28+ psi. It won't feel anything like a stock Evo. I actually think you're a little dainbramaged by the way you wrote this.

i dont understand this comment...
we actually have our shop evo as a 2.3 with 35R for street use... will run alky sometimes will run race fuel sometimes, otherwise, it will be driven, and occasionally trips to the road course....
the addition of the displacement, without mega lumpy cams, can make it easier to idle nicely etc...
i have a JAM 2.3, built head.. .etc etc.... i think its a perfect pairing for the stock ecu... perhaps with a blowthrough shortly......
to say a street driven 2.3 modded etc is stupid... is stupid.. if that is what you were saying....

CBRD? UHHH, ok. Let's spend $10+k on a crazy built motor and huge turbo to just drive around daily. If that's considered wise, then I will glady admit to being "stupid." What the hell are you going to do with all that power on a daily driven car?
The answer is...nothing. Notice you said "occasional trips to the road course." Yesevo is not going to the track PERIOD. he wants to race people on the highway. I can't think of a much more senseless way to spend $10,000 (or more). There is also NO COMPARISON between you and yesevo...you have to think of things from the perspective of a brainless noob, not from the perspective of a shop owner who knows what he's doing.

well, i just live by to each their own really.... we can't change the minds of those who have a path they want to take with a project...
i think the extra displacement would be nice on the car, even on stock ecu, etc... if someone has the money, let them do what they want.... hey.... see what happens..
i view every project someone takes as an exercise, a way to gain information.... so, have at it... if u know what i mean...
---------------
point is if you dont want to race the car, u care about smog, or live in a state that does... the ecu can handle almost anything you could want for a "daily street driven car"... i believe there is such thing as too much power for many situations..

I don't take it that way. Many people have no idea what they're doing and end up wasting TONS of money only to regret it later. I try to help them avoid that. The ones that really are serious and know what they're doing will go ahead and do it anyway, then enjoy it. People like Yesevo have NO BUSINESS doing anything like this. He has already changed his mind and now thinks no one should make over 340whp on their stock motor, because he thinks that means it's going to blow like his first one did.
