Thumbs down Came to the conclusion tonight....

that BG Syncroshift II sucks *****. I drive my car to hard for this fluid. 7800k no lift shifts and its grinding almost everytime in 3, 4, and 5. And sometimes it won't even go into gear Yes the clutch adjustment is almost at the top.

I need some thicker trans fluid, the sycro shift is way to thin, I am going to Jegs tommarrow for some Amsoil 80w 90 it worked perfect in my GTi, and I know it will for the Evo as well.

Try syncromesh, I would stick to what works and has been proven for the last couple of years, I would be very weary of trying a new fluid out on the trans, but let us know how it works.

I use 2 quarts of Redline MT90 mix'd with 1 quart of original GM Synchromech. I like the feel of it. I have tried all fluids.

I shouldn't need a shep trans. I think the fluid is just getting to hot and thinning out to to much. A thicker oil will work much better, it has for me in the past I and know it will here to.
I thought about adding a quart of the Redline to what is already in there... after draining one of course.
I don't daily drive the Evo so having a thicker fluid doesn't bother me all, I ain't worried about not being able to shift when it cold.
My Evo is only used for late night fun... if you get my drift

Royal Purple Syncromesh is awesome. we started to use it last year and i havent looked back sense.. made me so much of a believer we started to run their oil as well. the 20W50 is what is in our road race cars and they last 24hours straight.

.

Also is proven to pick up 2-3 hp in some cars. Turbo magazine wrote an article in most of the shyntethic transmission oils. I posses the magazine in case I need to prove it.

Also try Red line MT-90, it often makes the noise dissapear.

Not to hi-jack the thread but would the Royal purple syncromesh or max-gear be better. The max gear says it is GL-5 approved and I was thinking the syncromesh might thin out in an evo's tranny. Derek
