going in to get tranny checked

I am going to mitisubishi service in yonkers new york to get my fifth gear checked it grinds when going in to fifth gear at anything above 5k. I have a turbo back exhasut and after market intake, also my car is droped on tein susension. I am runing about 340 to the wheels, should i put my stock componets back on the car and then take it in. Will my engine be okay at this power level with stock componets, for a short period of time. Or should i just leave my aftermarket parts on and take it in to yonker mitisubishi will they void my warranty, or fix the fifth gear grind.

Yes, if you have the time and ability, put on all the sock stuff. I can't speak directly for that specific dealership, but they probably wouldn't hesitate to ring you up for ANY of those mods. In other words, you'd just have to be very lucky if they overlooked the mods, even though they are required by the MMWA to prove that a specific aftermarket part caused the problem. 5th gear grinds are not normal for IXs, but they were a TSB item on 03s. Unfortunately, you can't use that, but maybe you can mention it to them.

Do you have Tein suspension or just Tein springs? Big difference...I ask because you say "lowered" as opposed to "race aligned." The point of a "suspension" is to improve handling while springs are really just for lowering, which is bad for the Evo's shocks.

Did you put down 340 on a dyno, or are you guessing?

They are tein super street coilovers, do you think that would void my warranty on the transmission. When it was dynoflashed it put down about 340 to the wheels.
