Does anybody know if that Quaife center diff would work on our earlier (03-04) USDM cars with no ACD?

There should be some reviews on the GSC unit in the next week or two. There are a couple of them being run at an upcoming time attack. . .

if anyone wants a REAL center diff for their evo8/9's the only name is Quaife!! since i need to rebuild my tranny, this would make an excellent time to slap in a Quaife center diff. they can be ordered directly from Quaife for $1219. also as a side note, u can buy a front LSD from them as well for $973. those prices are verified this morning by www.xe.com as the prices are $625 & $499GBP respectively...

Ohhhh, man, I hope that UK stuff fits our USDM cars........

That would be sweet!

I thought I read on this site a while back that Quaife was making a front diff just to fit the USDM cars, with limited distribution through RRE. (This was before the 2005's hit, with the ACD and the 6spd MR.) I think there was a group buy for them.

I don't know how fitment would be affected for the USDM 5spd, viscous center diff-equipped cars.

It would be great if we could get front and center units straight from Quaife.

If anyone can confirm fitment, I know we'd all love to know.....

also, AYC, is actually in the rear diff, so it really doesnt have anything to do with the center diff, until you look at how it interacts with the ACD. but AYC was on evos since the evo 4, and ACD wasnt available till the evo 7. AYC can function on its own, basically.[/QUOTE]

Actualy AYC cant operate a a standalone. it will need adjustments to cut it apart from the connector on the ACD on the 8 and the 9.

intersting discussion so far...now that we back on track - the novises!

which 1 is better the cusco LSD Type-RS or cusco LSD Type-MZ for drag racing and time attack on an evo with AYC.

went out for a couple of sessions on the 2.2 config today... it is a smaller more techinical layout... car felt fantastic... throttle steering, rotating on corner exit like it never have before. GSC diff comes highly recommended.

about bearings... I got new bearings that go on the actual center diff.
