which Kevlar clutch should i go with?

i've made up my mind that i want to go with a kevlar clutch. i've used 2 kevlar clutches on my hondas and love them. the kevlar will outlast anything else on the clutch. my target hp will be around 350 whp, so these kevlar clutches will be more than sufficient. i'm not looking to spend more than $700, but $600 would be ideal since i'm tight on money right now because i'm getting the t-case rebuilt and install a front lsd. the tranny might need rebuilt also, so i figure i'd throw in a new clutch will the tranny is out.

let me know of any other manufactures of kevlar clutch for the Evo.

i've had the cm stg4 in my old civic and that was the best single disc clutch i've experienced.

with the evo, however, i've seen one person tear their cm kevlar clutch up in a few runs. And on the forums read someone doing extremely well with the clutch doing mid 11 second runs.

proven are the ACT and Exedy stg1, but i guess they are not kevlar.

i've read that CM kevlar has redesign the center hub since the first release.

i don't drag race or launch the car. i do about 10 autox events a year and maybe one track day. i know kevlar is over kill for 350whp but i want a cluth that will last 100k+ miles. clutch install is a big job and i don't want to have to do it again as long as i own the car.

I wouldn't do a Spec, thats for sure. Have you looked into the RPS Clutches? I "think" one of there models uses a kevlar disc

Your friends with Chad Block in york, right?
Ask him about the SPEC clutches he had.

If you search CBRD on the forum here, u can prolly find pictures of his old Spec clutch.

i'm not personal friends with him but i've seen him around at local events. i think he's going to come out to some regional autox events this year.

Zoom makes a Kevlar 4puck that I think I'm going to get for my car. I have no first hand experience with them but, a lot of the domestic guys I know speak highly of their stuff.

I get a little better deal because of where I work but, it's nothing major. The guy at Zoom did tell me that the kevlar 4 puck is about as aggressive as you would want to go for a daily driver. He said the 6 puck ceramic chatters a lot.

looks like about the same price as the ClutchMasters. i do like the puck design more because it's lighter, better for power shifts. i had a 3 puck unsprung sintered iron clutch in my boosted civic and that thing was crazy. it was either on or off, nothing in between and it lasted only 10k miles. i like kevlar clutch because they have a very smooth progressive engagement similar to organic and the friction material will outlast the whole clutch itself.

Call TTP, Scott has a Kevlar option that I think you will be interested in. Mention me and he will know which one you are talking about.
