I plan to do a 50trim very soon and had a few questions for current 50trim owners.
Do you run it on pump daily? How much boost do you run? Ill be on 91oct, so id prefer guys on 91oct to chime in more.
For the ones who run 91, and what boost you are at, what are u trapping?
Also curious on your guys other mods/supporting mods.

 

Well I have a 03 Evo 8 with the 50 trim. I run 22 psi daily on 93. I'm sure you could run 20 or 21 safely on the **** you guys get at the pump there.
So far I've run a best of 12.009@119 on this setup. I'm sure it would put you well into the 11's since you own a IX.

Other mods are 272 cams, 780cc injectors, 3" TBE with test pipe and a Greddy EBC

 

22 Psi for 93, thats kinda low for daily dont you think? I was planning on running atleast 22-23 for my daily here with the **** 91 water.

 

What we need is some #'s . What is the hightest WHP that someone can get out of a 50 trim! Stock block

 

The highest WHP on a stock block with a 50 trim is the same as the highest whp with a 50 trim on a built block. A 50 trim at its absolute max at about 500whp on the dot, people have made well into the 500's i am pretty sure on the stock block on a 35R.

500whp is close if not at the 50 trim's limit. For pump and alky good all around turbo. Or you could look into a 3076r. ***** out go 35r.

 

I plan to mainly use pump, and MAYBE throw in race gas every now and then when i go to the track.
So if i use only pump, would the 50trim be beter then gettn a 30r or 35r?

 

C'mon I know there has to be some more 50 trim guys out there. I wannna know the exact same thing as the OP. Also, it would be helpful to list whose kit you are using as well.

 

Not sure if it helps you any, but my times below were on 93oct and methanol injection. 26psi for those runs. You could probably get away with a little more boost than the stock turbo due to the more efficient compressor at higher boost levels on pump gas.

 

Nice trap speed. What were your dyno #s for the 50trim?
I prob could do 26psi MAX for my car with meth. The ****ty 91 out here just does not compare to your guys 93
But if I could trap 126, id be very very pleased with it.

 

I don't have any dyno numbers w/ this setup, I was road tuned by Al. When I went to dyno the first turbo failed on me one the first pull, so now I have a new one.

 

Turbo failed? Thats kinda scary, lol. What was the reason for it failing? Was it reaching its maximum turbo output and failed?

That's what I was tuned at so that is what I run...my knock count is 7-8 during 4th gear so I'm not pushing it anymore than that.

 

I'm making about 410 AWHP on pump gas, PSI unknown, and on 93+Meth, 29 PSI Made 496.XX AWHP, 433.XX TQ with 95 degree dyno room temps.....
