i wouldn't really go cheap on the alky setup if I were you, it's one of those things that is incredibly important and if something goes wrong you would be spending much more fixing your engine than you would have on a decent alky setup....that being said I would go with Aquamist

Dan, what does (snow, coolingmist....................................... .................................................. ...SMC) have thats better than Aquamist, 1 thing, price....cheaper by $100 - $200

Features unique ONLY to the aquamist injection system:
- Constant pressure system - very low pressure ripple (factory set to 125psi)
- High speed PWM valve ensure accurate flow control against fuel duty cycle.
- Fast dymanic response time to load and RPM change
- Consistant droplet size due to high system pressure under all conditions.
- Powerful 150 Watt Shurflo pump motor capable of maintaining flow beyond 2 litre/minute
- DDS3 (bundled) ensures flow is monitored constantly for clogged jet or cut hose.
- 2x failsafe channels to perform advanced failsafe tasks such as boost cut, map switch, etc.
-------------------------------------------------------------
- Water and methanol compatible (0-100%)

Whats the use of buying a cheaper/inferior product that does not do what it is suppose to do - inject the right amount of injectant at the right time?

The only thing the 3 other injection maker out there share with aquamist is - a pump thats Water and methanol compatible (0-100%)

Just wondering who is interested to see a A/B video comparison of the lightning quick response of the aquamist hsv contant pressure system Vs. the snail responding progressive pump speed injection the rest are using?

I'm not a dealer nor sponsored by Aquamist. Just want EvoM members who is considering an injection kit to have the fastest responding and the safest injection system for their car.

Do consider a failsafe, do not push your luck too far, might run out of it when you least expect.

See aquamist has a lot of features that are nice and all but in all honestly are not needed, they are certainly nice to have but find me one aquamist kit that runs smoother than a snow performance 2d kit (boost and maf) and I will go and buy a aquamist kit...there are a ton of great new features coming out with the kits but when it comes down to it they all net you the nearly same benefits...I would be willing to bet that most would have a hard time telling the difference between the kits when driving them...failsafes are certainly a nice thing to have and the more the merrier but on an evo you certainly don't need to get carried away...the ecu with its dual maps if tuned properly is the biggest failsafe you can buy...there is no aftermarket failsafe that reacts faster than it...that in combination with a failsafe that lowers boost is more than enough to protect the motor...there have been several times where I would run out of meth on the parkway in 4th and 5th gear wot and guess what the motor is still going strong (this is spraying nitrous as well in most cases)...I am not trying to knock the aquamist kit as its a truely well designed kit and its great to see Richard continually improving the kits and the price is certainly more than a 200 dollar difference...

problem associated with using pump speed control (snow, cooling mist, smc) that manufacturer NEVER talk about will you buy the product and find out....

flactuating flow rate = flactuating AFRs

btw

snow kit + sort of failsafe = 399 + 99 = 498

aquamist kit w/ integrated state of the art failsafe = 650

650 - 498 = 152

i'll piece together a A / B side by side comparison of pump speed Vs. constant pressure injection. Stay tuned.

Evoboy89,

I must say that I partially disagree with some opinions gave on this forum. While some people swears up and down that some sophisticated alky kits prevents your engine from blowing up by having "multiple fail safe components" the true of the fact is that the more components that you add to make your system "safe" the more chances of failure you also have.

The lesser the components a kit has the less amount of issues and problems it will have. Simple proven designs always preveal as far is reliability.

I use the SMC kit with the proper set up and I never had any issues. My controller has a set of dipswitches that you can set to properly set the pressure and not overkill the pump.

I had my system for about 18 months and I had absolutely no issues. I highly suggest a failsafe component and I also suggest the Perrin kit and the new Aquamist.

My kit took about 3 hours to get fully installed. The one that Abner has been working on took weeks of preparation and countless hours of installation, not to mention the huge cost.
