Dynoflash@Chicago 2/10 Tune results

Hey wassup,

Just wanted to post up some sheets from last weekend. I got a tune from Al and he worked his magic to my car. I had a baseline run at 255/254 @ 16 psi. and after the tune it got up to 294/316 @ 20psi!! this is a very low reading dynojet. I will get my car dynoed again this spring at AMS and post more results in this thread. Here ya go!

Mods list:

2.75" UICP
2.75"LICP
Hybrid Performance FMIC
Megan 3" DP
custom test pipe
JunBL 3" Catback
Boost controller set at 20 psi
Walbro 255 FP
Apexi Cone intake adapter

I was running on 93 oct and with NGK BPR7ES plugs gapped at .028-.029 Al told me that my car was misfiring and i couldnt boost anymore... i wanted to boost a lil higher but since my car start to knock at 21psi I had to bring it down to 20 psi. and about my misfiring... you guys think I should regap my plugs to .025-.026? will that be safe enough to boost a lil higher?

My 2-step is a bit crazy too, its throws out fireballs like no other... went out to a club after the tune... and i was showing my friends the 2 step at the parking lot and it sounded like gunshots that rang up in the air.. i saw people ducking down for cover when i did that. people around my car was like damn... that was bad *** yo!

Also not to mention P & L Motorsports did an excellent job to host this event. They have workers to help fix any minor things that had gone wrong with the car. to be straight forward, they would just bend over and do anything for the customers... great customer service and a clean shop! check it out if your around the chitown area.

Last but not the least DYNOFLASH FTMFW!

For the record thats not a low reading dynojet. For one, the dynojets can't be programmed to give higher or lower numbers like you can with dyno dynamics or the mustang dyno. The only thing you can change is the correction factor, STD reads higher and is what turbo trix uses to get their high numbers and mediocre track resuslts. AMS uses STD which is the lower reading of the two and in this dyno sheet from P&L, they are uncorrected like pruven does(in the winter). Uncorrected will give higher results than other correction factors becuase of the super crisp cold air that turbos love.

Not trying to burst your bubble, but I see a LOT of people spreading mis information about dynos....

BTW are you still using the stock bov? Change that out if so, and get a ported 10.5 hotside before going to AMS in the spring..

The power increase is right in line with the increase in boost. No surprises.

Low reading dyno... lol... it's a comparative tool... not an absolute measuring device!

I lost 10 pounds... but my scale reads really low... so that's like 20 pounds on a doctors scale... lol... will they never learn?... lol

NIce numbers, but it looks a bit on the lean side in the 6500-7200 rpm area.

Nevermind...mine was reading low because the rpm pickup wasnt reading right at high rpm. My dynos cut out at about 5k.

Nice #'s. I'm just curious, was were you only boosting 16psi on your base pull? With the additional boost you were missing, your baseline would have been at least 20 - 40 whp higher.

It's not really what #'s you got in the end , it's the gain is what you should be looking for.
Oh and their Dyno read fine when I dynoed last Dec. Got 299whp = 108 traps.

I want to fix my 'misfiring' issue i had during the tune day... i want to up my boost to 22psi just 2 more pounds so i can squeeze out as much power as i can right now. Do you guys think that regapping my current BPR7ES Plugs will do the trick?? I gapped them at .028-.029 I was thinking about going .025-.026

let me know guys. thanks.
