Stock Boost PSI for an IX
What is the stock boost PSI for an IX...I've tried searching but cannot find a consistent answer...mostly from people who have had their cars tuned...I have not
My mods:
3" Weapon-R downpipe, Perrin High-flow Cat, and Agency Power Ti- exhaust
Injen CAI and IC piping
TurboXS MBC
All I want is a basic baseline so I know what is exactly normal for PSI...I want to know what is too high for 93 octane and whatnot...please let me know

Search harder. It's been answered hundreds and hundreds of times. 06s are the same as 05s with stock boost, and even the 03-04s are within 1psi, so you don't have to only look for this info related to IXs...
PS. If I was asked for the worst way to spend money when modding a IX, it would be your mod list plus an HKS SSQV.

hey, i was told a few days ago 20psi then 16 to redline...i have the same cai and ic piping as you from injen so far....my boost gauge only reads 18ish then 15 to redline..i think the boost gauge is screwed up...but it varies

According to the Evo brochure: 20.16 psi at 3500 RPM WOT, dropping to 16.10 psi at 6500 RPM WOT. On my DEFI gauge (car is stock except for a drop in panel) the highest consistent reading I have seen is just a tad over 1.4 bars, which is just over 20.5 psi.
It's kind of amazing that you did the cardinal sin of Evo modding by doing the $400 Injen Intake and $250 HKS SSQV, both of which hurt your car in stock form, one of which is not as good as your stock piece, but you plan to get the best stg1 package in the future! Smart move on the last part, heh.

Why is the Injen Intake package a bad mod?? I've heard you loose about 10lbs of torque with an high-flow intake, but I've also heard that you can make up for that with a good tune...what other reasons? Oh and how would you suggest I mod my car...you give advice without really giving advice

It's a bad mod, because you aren't tuned for it, and it gives more bling than power. Spending $400 on a custom flash is 10x more useful than spending $400 on a shiny intake/uicp. One gives you lots of power - the other gives you lots of noise. An expensive TI cat-back without even the benefit of a major brand name like HKS, a restrictive hi-flow cat, and the worst MBC on the market really top it off nicely.

I give lots of advice - you just aren't good at searching (or just not good at reading my sig).

You are completely right. Warr does know his stuff but can be an *** most of the time. Alot of people find this site after they buy their evo and start modding so best thing you can do is get a tune and just search on here for the next best mods. The intake isnt a bad choice just expensive i have it and have had no problems with it but you do need a tune with it to make any power. Also the boost controller isnt the number one choice on here but if it works then it works, Most people use hallman or forge.

When you do a search look under threads started by the originator.
