Stripped screw on intake manifold suggestions?

I would like to see what you guys think i should do to fix or replace?

On the throttle bodie side one of the screws stipped the intake manifold so its not holding. They said i should just use a healycoil to fix it but i think thats a temporary fix to the problem. I just wanted to replace the intake and get a new one or do you guys think it not gonna be a problem.

Nothing wrong with heli-coils used all the time in soft metals to increase TQ capacity.

Helicoils are NOT a temp fix. THey are actually a BETTER fix. I put them in all my exhaust threads because the steel helicoils take more abuse than the aluminum threads. This is common practice on aluminum parts that are serviced a lot.

If you do it the correct way a heli coil will last longer than you own your car. You could also try a threaded insert which is bit more time consuming and stronger than a heli coil. Probably overkill for the TB.

i have had better luck with time serts when fixing totally f@#ked up threads...even works good in aluminum and can hold more torque. if not heli-coil will do you just fine.
