Does the Hi Power need relocation brackets?

I just purchased a used HiPower off of another member and he says that he never got these when he ordered it new and that it fit fine on his car. I see everyone else that is selling this exhaust selling the bracket also. Did they always need it?

Yes you need them if you want it to just bolt right on with no problems. Mine came with them though. I cant see how these would be sold seperately. Of course you could alwasy rig something up too.

Hi Powers have fixed brackets welded to the cannister. The Carbon Ti is the one with the adjustable brackets.

That is true but it still uses the same two relocation hangers that the Carbon Ti uses. Check the install below of the the Hi Power,it is the same for both minus the removable hanger used on the Carbon Ti.

To the OP,each one of the US spec Hi Power/Carbon Ti's comes with the two hangers and 4 10mm bolts to mount the exhaust, one that goes by the rear differential and the other at the right rear that bolts the the car.

The guy I got it from said that this is one of the first ones and that it is the japanese spec one which doesn't need the brackets. I don't know if I trust him that much to waste my time and take the exhaust off and see that it is wrong. But again their is only one way to find out.

I'm not quite sure which hangar you are talking about still, but it's really not that hard of an install, why dont you just put the exhaust on, check fitment and if worse comes to worse, drive down to a muffler shop with the new exhaust on and have them fab up a hangar... If it's one of the rear hangars that holds up the muffler, you will want to get the hangar put on unless you have aftermarket urethane exhaust hangars because the stock exhaust hangars allow for alot of movement of the exhaust system and with a big tip such as the hks exhaust has, you will run into problems with it burning the edge of your bumper if you only have one hangar holding it up.
