you're lucky as heck that you're still under warranty.
chance is are, it's the t-case.
don't touch the car, just drive it straight to the dealer so they can't blame you for anything.

have you checked the fluids? maybe the shop that did your clutch messed up an o-ring for the TC to tranny and the fluid leaked out. if that's the case, it would suck, cause they'd probrably deny warranty since they didn't do the clutch.

dont even drive it to the dealer, FLATBED!!! it could be a number of things, t-case, broken drive gear teeth, lack of lube, wrong lube.... Just get it to the dealer, no one on here can tell you what it is without seeing the car in person. I would be going after the shop that installed the clutch if the dealership refuses to help you out. You're in a tough position, you should of had the dealership install the clutch, especially if it was a stock replacement, I've been there though and had to suck it up and open up the check book and start signing, it sucks. best of luck to you, and i really hope you have better luck with the dealership then i did in my situation.

Let me see, hmmmm.. What most likely happened was that the shop put either not enough tc fluid or did not put the correct one resulting in worn out ring and pinion in your transfer case which is causing the loud whine.. If thats the case, your tc is ****ed!!! You will have to get a new one or send it out to T.R.E. or Shepard racing

I have an evo IX, and on christmas eve my clutch decides to go out. I only have 4k miles on it. It was late at night and i couldnt get a tow truck to take it to the dealership because it was closed. So i had to leave it at the mall overnight. the dealership would not fix my clutch of course. so i had to go some where else. i got a stage 2 clutch and lightened flywheel put in on jan 30th. 2 days before i got deployed on feb 9th, my car starts making that same whining sound. and its loud and annoying. so i feel for you bro. sad thing is i have to wait to i get my car fixed till i get back and even the military dont knoe when that is.
