Tranny Problems?

I just bought my car less than a month ago at the mitsu dealer. I'll try to explain the best that I can. Well first off I let the car warm up about 10-15 minutes before each drive, especially because it it cold out. When I come out to get in my car I will sit in the driver seat and I can hear some sort of rattling or rubbing from the tranny. Im pretty sure it is the tranny because when I push in the clutch it stops, and when I let it out again it starts rubbing/rattling. Does anyone have an Idea about whats wrong. I made an appointment for next week to get all my fluids done so hopefully that helps it to.

Also what fluids should I use for everything??? Im new to the evo community, my last car was a mustang so a little help would be appreciated.

My car is a 2003 Evo 8 if that helps too.
Thanks alot guys.

the throwout bearing will cause noise like that when there is no pressure on it.

Its the throw out bearing. Don't worry about it, its pretty much normal on '03, and I think some other years had the same problems. At any rate, its going to happen, and its not bad. The first gear whine is pretty normal too, first and reverse are both bad to that respect.

For fluids, I like the BG Synchroshift II(synthetic) for the tranny; however, for the TC and rear diff..go with the Diaqueen(OEM Fluid)

yeah make absolutely sure you use oem for the t-case. if you use the wrong fluids it will eat the ring/pinion and you will be needing a new transfer case.

I was looking into products from redline. I did a little research and it seems like some use the syncromesh, redline, and oem. I checked out their evo specific fluid pack and it is:

6 quarts of 10W30 engine oil

2 quarts of MTL and 1 quart of MT-90 (to be combined for use in the transaxle, mixing to meet the Evo's 75W85 gear oil spec)

1 quart of 75W90 for the center differential and 1 quart for the rear differential

1 bottle of WaterWetter for the radiator

1 bottle of SI-1 Complete Fuel System Cleaner

Has anyone had experience with this?

The noise is normal. Just remove the tranny and replace the throw out bearing. Remember to lube it before re-installation!
