Safe Charge Temp for 85F Ambient/Inlet

Hello all,

As subject reads, I was noticing charge temps of 149F with 85F ambient/inlet and was concerned this was quite high. Is this normal? Just running .8 bar boost right now.

Note in celcsius that is 30C and 65C.

Anything under 200 deg is pretty good.

I find that to be very high, in my case the ambient temps are high 80's low 90's but after a full 4 gear blast my inlet(measured just after the intercooler) would only raise to 134-138 this is with the stock intercooler and 1.4 bar of boost. At your level of boost I do not think your temp should rise as much, maybe your intercoolers efficiency is being hampered by oil residue

My inlet temp probe is plumbed into the inlet manifold. I wonder if that would raise the temps a bit as compared with just after the intercooler?

Thanks for the responses guys by the way.

Heatsoak is the name of your temperature rise.

Boost=pressure=increased temps.

My non-intercooled supercharger Integra had +230*F intake manifold temps during 3rd gear pulls.

Normal and your fine.
