Boost and Wastegate Issue's.

my problem started when i was driving from Fl to W. Virginia. As the weather got colder i would have to adjust my boost to stay at 20 pounds. Eventually adjusting stopped working.

The boost is at 30 pounds and won't go down with my EBC even when i turn it off. Its suppose to drop to wastegate when its off.

I then borrowed a MBC from a friend so see if my EBC was the problem. I still have the same problem of running basically full boost.

I then replaced all my vac lines for the fuel pressure regulator with all the things tapping in there. I also changed my lines that connect the EBC/MBC.

didn't fix it.....

The next step i took was taking a vac line and looping it from the turbo outlet to the wastegate outlet.

I finally got wastegate boost.... 11 pounds not budging.....

i dont know where to go from here, i feel like an idiot posting this. i can't figure out what my problem is. its wierd for things to go wrong by themselves like this.

any ideas?

cheers!

so even with fresh lines going from the turbo outlet, to the manual boost controller, to the wastegate actuator, you had 30 psi?

where were you getting the source pressure from before looping it off the turbo (compressor) outlet? or were you always using the turbo outlet?

wouldn't 30PSI cause the AFRs to be all messed up and make your block explode?

yes..... but it doesn't happen that fast... my ebc has a pretty loud warning. and i had it set to 23 pounds. as soon as i heard it ring i let off fast....

since then while i've been testing and trying to fix it i backed off the timing a ton and added some fuel... i can run the car with 30 pounds of boost lol.... and 4 counts of timing lol

all you got to do is but a bouse sourch straight onto the waste gate and it should boost 11psi. this will tell you the problem is in your boost controler. my hks evc 5 one day just stop working and stop controling boost so thats why i'm running a mbc now
