basic question, turbo upgrade on stock ecu flash....
i spent the past 10 min searching with no help....
my question is.. say you do a turbo upgrade and you dont have your ecu flashed and your tuner is 50 miles away... can you drive the car with the upgraded parts and stock ecu flash?
this was just an example my tuner is not 50 miles away, just want to know if the car can be driven with an upgraded turbo on stock ecu.... until it gets flashed.
thanks for your time.

How much of a turbo upgrade are we talking about here? Is it a bolt-on turbo or a full turbo kit with a 35R? How much boost were you running on your stock turbo?
You should be fine to go as long as you set the new turbo's WG to open at same PSI as your original turbo's boost level. The spoolup may be different on the new vs. the old turbo, but as long as you keep the boost at a safe level, say 17#, you shpld be O.K. for driving around town.
