Hunting the knock gremlin tomorrow!
Tomorrow morning I'm taking the car back to Speed Element to see if we can either find the source of the false knock and/or test and maybe even replace the car's original knock sensor. We've always been suspicious of the knock readings on 91 octane during previous tuning efforts but when there were too many during a recent 100 octane tune we knew it was phantom knock. I started the thread below a few weeks back but wanted to see if anybody else has some ideas for things, places or ways to test for false knock? I know Andy, Devin, Cal and the group at Speed Element know their stuff but it never hurts to have some additional input from the Evo community. I'd love to be able to kill this damn gremlin once and for all tomorrow so Andy can see what the car's truly capable of doing on the dyno.
