i pulled in to pep boys tonight and shut the car off althought ive got a turbo timer so it did its count down. when i got back in the car to leave i turned the key and it cranked once and then nothing. i cranked it a few more times and then finally it started up. I have no idea what it could be. Its only got 30k miles so the batt and starter should be fine and the indicator on the top of the batt says it has life left and the turbo timer is hooked up by the plug and play harness so there are no spliced wires. Anyone have any idea cause im lost thanks.

 

so does your car take longer (more cranks) then normal to start?


what kind of turbo timer do you have? If its a GReddy you can push power and select ant the same time til you display voltage...see if its between 12.0 - 12.6 before you start it.


Maybe your alternator/charging system is going bad....mitsu has had some problems w/ the faulty alternators on the IX's <--- maybe check your entire charging system

 

Did you do any spirited driving before you shut it off ?
Did it blew black smoke when it finally started?

Could just be excess fuel that dripped onto the spark plug tip as it shut off making it harder to spark....happens to me sometimes.

 

well now it starts right up so far and yes i have the greddy full auto but i havent checked the volts before start up but while running im between 13.9 and 14.3 usually, never lower than 13.9.

and actually just before i shut it off i did jump on it a lil due to a slow *** car that finally turned lol but i wasnt lookin out the back for smoke but before it started it cranked once and then it didnt crank again it just clicked like it was the starter but i wouldnt think it could be the started or could it??
