I feel for a daily driver with occational track visits an ACT street disk would be fine, anything else would be overkill. And you will save money over going with the twin disk.

The Exedy Twin disk is like the ultimate sacrifice for performance. Yes, you get a clutch that hooks up like crazy, but you get chattering, a tired left leg, and an empty wallet.

I went for the performance, I got the Exedy .

You put your Exedy in wrong then! It is slightly heavier then stock pedal pressure. NO CHATTER on mine. Have you driven 70K miles with Exedy twins? I have, and I don't have a tired leg. It lasts a long time, so it cost LESS long term, more short term. Never drove on an ACT clutch, so I cannot comment on them. "Ultimate sacrafice for performance???!!!" What does that mean????????

Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but what is the difference between the Cusco and Exedy Twins? I was under the impression that they were the same, but I'm not sure. If they are the same, I would have to agree with Lancematic about the payment for the clutch. I've had a Cusco twin for about 15K miles, and while it doesn't exactly tire out my leg (pedal effort is close to stock), it chatters way more than the friendly stock clutch! The thing grips / performs very well, but if I had to go back and do it again I think I'd try something else. My car is a DD, and this clutch seems more fitted for a track.

How much power do you want to eventually have? Anything like 35R+ Id opt for the twin disc but if you want under that, Id definitely get the ACT. Its incredibly inexpensive compared to the twin disc and it holds great power. It acts like a better stock clutch.

I am thinking I will go with the cusco twin plate when the time comes. It has similar to stock pressure plate rating, and can handle about anything I will ever throw at it!! I dont wanna go cheap with an ACT and have to change it out in a year or so cause I go to the track several times a year.

I think the only difference between the exedy and cusco twins is the pressure plate rating.....the cusco is supposed to be a little lighter pressure than the exedy, but otherwise, both clutched are MADE by exedy!

I'm going to relearn how to drive with the act XD 6-puck, it holds the power, doesn't lockout, and costs alot less than exedy.

The tradeoffs: My leg will be bigger than his by this time next year and you'll be passed by me... on the shoulder of the road trying to avoid stopping the car for traffic

I just got an ACT Street and Xact flywheel combo and waiting to have it installed. I drove an evo with the ACT/Fidanza and I thought it was great. The pedal was a little heavier than the stock setup but not much. And it drove great. I'm expecting my setup will be as good.

A friend has a Ralliart HD Twin setup and when I first drove it... hated it! You had to slip it hard to get it going and I couldn't handle doing that everyday. It felt like I was breaking it trying to get it going. The pedal pressure was softer than stock though. I was loving that.

Now I got to drive his car again... after some good mileage on the clutch, totally broken in, and I was surprised how great and easier it was to drive. You still need to slip it slightly to get it going but for fast shifting on power, it holds like a ****. The pedal pressure is definitely great and I can definitely live with it, now. But the price though.. that's another story.
