The green is definitely better, but what are you trying to get?? 50 trim with supporting mods would probably do one better on pump gas. If you do go with the green anyway, you should definitely buy some cams (272-280), gears, larger injectors (680-720) and Walbro (didn't know if you had it already)... This would be about the same recommendation for the 50 trim as well.. with a semi-safe tune you should get another 50-80whp... Good luck with whatever you decide.

You need FULL bolt on mods before you should buy any turbo upgrade. That includes FMIC, piping, fuel pump, cams, etc.

Your next mod should be a good 3" exhaust! Cat free will make the most power. Then you can port/coat the exhaust manifold/ hotside. Cheap mods that yield good results. Then you could look at the green with some larger injectors.

The FP Green is a lot of money for a turbo upgrade on a IX for limited results. At this point an exhaust is definitely your next step. Once you get used to that you might then try cams.

Has anyone noticed that he has a IX?

Just do all of the bolt ons that were described above and I bet that you will not want to do the turbo just yet.

Try not to think that an upgraded turbo is the only way to get fast.

You have a IX and with basic bolt ons you will be very happy with the power level.

the OP already has an exhaust - it's the first item he listed... (commas > him )

To answer your question, the Green turbo should gain your IX around 30-40whp, mostly from 5500 - 7000rpm. A few members on here have installed the Green on their IX's with the above effect, even while still on stock cams.

Don't forget to figure in injectors (~750cc) and a custom tune into your budget...

cbrd just did a back to back test on 93 and picked up 40whp on a mustang dyno...

i think a evo 9 on meth will probably pick up 60whp on the swap...

thats worth 1000..... cams will pick up 20-25whp for 600+valvetrain 300= 900 for 20-25whp...

Cams & alky before green. Might even want to upgrade FMIC beforehand to!

you don't NEED cams to upgrade the turbo. everybody has their own upgrade path. if i were the OP, i would do intercooler, fuel pump, injectors and the Green. for only a couple hundred more you can make approx. 15 more whp than cams and leave your motor "unopened" by getting the green. just my opinion, but i'd do what i listed, and if you still want more do cams + meth/alky

Go with a 50 trim kit. It spools the same as the Green and it offers alot more if needed!
