Cam install and knocking like a SOB?

I'm planning on getting cams soon, and one of my friends here in town got cams and he's been running not any better than before his cam install. He even had Jestr reflash his ECU for knock. I was told that another friend of ours said that he saw on here that unless you adjust your knock sensor, it will sense the cam lope as knock and pull timing.

Is there any truth to this? I tried searching every possible combination of phrases and came up empty in any answers.

I just want to be prepared in what I need to do when I install my cams. I was under the impression that after they were installed, and my ECU was reflashed, then all I would have to do is do some datalogging and tweak the tune if need be. Then I'd be on my merry way.

Any help or comments would be appreciated. Thanks!

He means the lifters when he said the system. If you dont alot of the time the lifters wont "bump" back up causing a ticking or tapping sound that the kock sensor will pick up as knock even tho it isnt. Its called phantom knock. Also what oct gas is being used if its 91 then its probably the poop gas.

I don't know if he had the system bled or not, but I'll ask.

And there's no way to get rid of knock at all with 91 octane? cuz that's all we have in Wichita.

That's what I keep reading, but I don't want to end up like him, missing power somewhere...
