Checking for removed Clutch Restrictor
Checking for removed Clutch Restrictor
If I take out the 12 mm bolts holding the clutch slave cylinder, then remove the banjo bolt attached to opposite side of bleeder screw should I expect fluid to come squirting out of the hard line or will it just come out slow? I'm not doing the clutch line(done by previous owner), just want to check if the restrictor was removed.
Fluid will come out, but I don't think fast as there is no pressure until you push the clutch. And the restrictor is in the slave cylinder, not in the line. Check out this link, should help you out a lot: http://evomoto.com/tech_info.php?tPa...88aae4fe74b574
EDIT: I just re-read your post, I think you knew where the restricor was, and you were just asking about the fluid. But I think your ok, it won't come out fast, but you will need to bleed it.

I was studying that article too before I posted. I was wondering if I could just remove the restrictor without having to take out the slave cylinder. All I would do is take out the hard line and bleeder and push spring and valve out. In that article above the slave cylinder was removed, placed in a vise for restrictor removal.
You should be able to do it on the car. I think they just took it out for the pictures. And after re-reading you post I figured you knew what was going on, hence my edit.
And you will notice a big difference in clutch feel if the restrictor is still in there and you remove it. You have much better control of the clutch.

I am going to change out the bleeder screw for a speed bleeder. This should fit if I'm not mistaken: http://speedbleeder.zoovy.com/product/SB1010
