What intake piping? You mean the MAF pipe from the intake to the turbo? I've never had that pop off in 250+ drag runs, and I can't say I've heard of it happening to anyone else, yet you say it happened everytime? Sounds like you need a decent clamp.

If you meant the IC piping, then yeah, that's a normal problem, but it just means you need to get a better seal (use hairspray), or get some t-bolt clamps.

T-Bolt clamps.. And a bit of hair spray on the inside of the pipe to make it "Tacky" so it won't slip off when it dries..

ITs weird though, I have never blown off the stock or aftermarket pipes, except for one time when I took some of the stuff apart and didn't tighten it well enough.

How do you tighten the clamp? Do you use a screw driver? Try tightening it with a socket and a rachet. Im not trying to say your not smart enough to do this, but you would be surprised how many people just tighten the stock clamps with a screw driver.

+1.... I used a screwdriver to "snug" one up and keep the clamp from moving around yesterday while I finished installing something else.

Guess what... forgot to tighten it with a socket afterwords and ended up having it pop off the TB last night

+2 on the socket + ratchet FTW...

So, about the hairspray... it's FLAMMABLE... should I not be worried about applying some in my engine bay?

It dries up quickly and gets sticky. It's also between the hose and pipe.

+3 on the socket. but the stock clamps will only hold so much. (Ive broken a couple) Good idea to buy some spares before hand.

great idea with the hairspray!

Not to flame... but isnt gas flammable?

I put some on it last night but no luck. And yes I used a ratchet. The hair spray, I thought, was a good idea. But it didnt work.

One kid suggest, "Run a self tapping screw through the clamp, tubing and throttle body."

I just look at him and said, "Yeh I'll do that when I get back to the shop."

Haven't had that problem even with 28psi running through the pipes. Stock clamps without any hairspray... if they do go someday I'll apply some. For now, if its not broken, don't fix it ;D

buy the t-bolt clamp like Jack/warr said...2.75 inch for the Throttle Body side hose and 2.50 inch for the rest of the intake IC pipes.

And next time if a kid tells you to drill into your hose like that....just smack him. Dumb people do not apply to normal laws...LOL
