Getting ready to load a Jestr tune!! (and a couple questions)

I got my Jestr M1 today. And also obtained a laptop from the IT guys at work for free today. (its one they replaced, and legit) Im in the process of installing XP on it, so I can install ecuflash. Im getting antsy sitting here waiting for it. Almost thinking about dragging the desktop pc out to the garage. I compared the my old maps with his, and my old one had a pretty aggressive low octane map, compared to jestr. Im pretty much a noob with the evo, but I know much rather have a conservative low octane map. I had asked him if the one that was in what stock (Im second owner, and was slightly modded when I got it) havnt heard back. I also have Mitsulogger, does it work with the same cable? And do I need a wideband to get logs?

thx

it works with the same cable, just dont use the white plug, and you wont NEED a wideband to log

Jestr has become a very respected tuner in the Evo community lately.

I would consider getting a tune from him.

jestr ftw! The guy is very good.

When you say your old low octane map is aggressive, is that fuel or timing? The power will be in the timing map moreso than the fuel map. I'd recommend paying for the subscription he offers. Install his flash, do some datalogs, send him the logs and he will modify the tune for your specific logs. Just like a custom tune, and he will be able to extract maximum power safely.

My timing map is aggressive. The fuel map wasnt much different. That is why I was asking him if it was a stock tune. Although, I do not have much experience with any ecu tuning, and dont know how sensitive the values are. I'll be getting a wideband soon, and doing lots of research in the meantime. I just wanted the car to be safe. Ive been running 15-18 psi since right after I got it, and didnt know what kind of tune was in it. When I first got it, it was pushing over 1.5 on the stock gauge. Ive since turned it down, bought gauges, and a new controller.

Mods, if this needs to be moved to General tuning, please do. Sorry about that.

Got it loaded. And it feels pretty darn good. Nice solid accel until I give up. Before it almost acted like it had a slight surge as it went through the rpm range. Now its nice and smooth! It also had a hesitation in between gears (not the clutch) that would happen. Its gone now as well. I wasnt able to get Mitsulogger installed. The network card I have for the laptop isnt compatible with XP. And therefore I cant install the .net framework.

better to drive your car , chill a bit, then contact Jestr (by email, not by making a thread on evom) to get a quick opinion on the issue. Otherwise get custom road tune...

Log it with mitsulogger or evoscan. Check knock sums.

Don't forge to take out the pill as well. I just loaded the M1 flash two day ago, and took out the pill last night. You can tell a small difference up top especially.

No, you can log everything else without the wideband there just won't be any air fuel trims..

You guys seem to have no problem getting in touch with Jestr. I have emailed him at jestr@jestrtuning.com and jestrtuning@gmail.com and he has not replied despite a number of emails requesting for his assistance in getting my stationary rev limiter working.

If anyone sees him, please pass him a message that I am looking for him urgently. Thanks!
