The difference between the kits is that the street brawler kit uses the standard bushing turbos, with a 360 degree thrust (which is a better quality upgrade over a standard bushing turbo), while the "50 trim" kit, has a ball bearing center section. The turbos use the same turbine and compressor wheels, but the center sections are different. The conventional wisdom is that the ball bearing turbos respond more quickly, but there are large numbers of people who are using standard bushing turbos in Evo and other applications and doing just fine, so the choice is pretty much do you want to spend the extra $ for a ball bearing, or can you be happy with saving the difference in $ and still getting a super high quality manifold from Shearer? Either way, you win.

Shearer has been making top quality, hand made, detail oriented components for the diamond star and EVo community for a decade now. His craftsmanship and quality are top notch.
Ive ran (or helped build a car with) 50 trims, 60-1, gt35r's, gt37r, gt2871r, and a slew of other snails. IMHO ball bearing is a cut above standard thrust but it isnt night and day. Where ball bearing shines is inbetween shifts. It helps keep boost onset throughout the gears but initially expect only a few hundred rpm difference in peak boost attainment.
I see guys with BB 50trims and think how funny it is cause it has such a small mass (relatively) the BB aspect is barely noticable compared to something the size of a gt35r. The larger the turbo, the more significant the gains are from going BB.
So Id say, youre best bet if youre on a budget, go standard bearing 50 trim or 60-1 for the time being. Remember, you can always buy a BB turbo down the road, once you have the mani, O2 housing and associated lines, for usually under 1000buckeroos. Both the 50 and 60-1 are great setups for a street car but the 60-1 will give you that extra umph on track days when you wanna crank the boost. Good luck!
