I was planning to upgrade my intercooler to something bigger that would breathe easier before I get it tuned. Does these pressure drops seem normal, would it effect the car idle? Can anyone chime in after upgrading their intercooler?

A little off your topic, but you do know that your stock intercooler is good for up to 400hp?

 

no it will not affect the idle......i run the turbo xs i felt the diffrence in tourqe wright away it's a good mod.just dont use ebay junk...

I think they are worth it if you live in a hotter climate. Also get upgraded piping to complete the setup. I just had a 24 X 12 X 3.5 core IC with custom piping installed and noticed that it helps with boost taper.

 

it means it will handle up to 400hp. that DOESNT mean you would be wasting your money if you upgraded. you WILL get more power from a better intercooler

 

agreed. Make sure to get some new ic piping as well. With a bigger IC you'll get some more turbo lag. The ic piping helps counter that.
