Buschur Stage 2 Questions

I'm contemplating the following:

Buschur Racing Deluxe Front Mount Intercooler w/ Lower Pipe
Buschur Racing Mini Battery
Buschur Racing Upper Intercooler Pipe w/ Flange
Tial 50mm Stainless Blow Off Valve
Buschur Racing Mass Air Pipe w/ Filter
48" x 36" Reflect-A-Cool for Intake

My concerns are:

1) The Tial ... I don't think their recirc is out yet, and I don't want to shell out $1500 for an AEM EMS... what are my options here?

2) Is the filter a K&N ?

3) Is the mini battery strong enough for sub zero New England winters ?

1) you would prolly be alright. Go for an MR/IX or Greddy type RS as a nice alternative

2) nope, I think it's made by apexi. Very nice though, I have one.

3) Worse than new england, I live in MN. I left the car for four days in -20F to -30F w/o starting. It cranked over and started right away! Never had a problem!

Don't you have an Evo IX? IX's come with a great DV from the factory, why would you get the TiAl? Are you planning on running meth?

Buschur seems to recommend his Race FMIC over his Deluxe FMIC. There are people on this board that already have the Deluxe that are now considering upgrading to the Race. IMO, get it right the first time so you won't have to always wonder if you could of made more power.

What is the "reflect-a-cool"?

ps--I have the deluxe, and am not considering upgrading to the full race. The Deluxe is HUGE and awesome. Fits like a glove and makes killer power!

I'm not planning on running meth, so I will consider keeping the stocker.

The race FMIC is too big, I have laser jammers installed above my stock intercooler and the race FMIC would require that I remove them

Reflect a Cool can be used to make a heatshield, such as this one:

the mini battery has better cranking volts than the stock battery, just dont let it sit to long at a time because it will loose charge, and personally i would go with the forge RS BOV, the tial might stall your car without an EMS

I think I may just go with the stocker since I won't be boosting over 23psi

The TiAL is for VTA applications only. We recommend the Evo 9 owners to stick with the OEM BOV. It works great and holds a decent amount of boost. I would recommend swaying away from the mentioned Greddy BOV. If you are not running a big turbo, high boost, big injectors, etc... stick with the stock ECU and just have a custom flash done.

The filter is one that we have made. It can still be cleaned and reused. If you run the car as a speed density setup (standalone) we include a actual K&N.

Yes the mini battery will fair well in your cold climate.

As was mentioned.... we do recommend the Race over the Deluxe core. It will handle pretty much anything you throw at it. Everyone here ran the race at one time on our stock turbo cars. The race can be run on a stock turbo with no issues. It is the same core we run on David's 9sec daily driver, my car, our 8sec. black drag car and every other Evo that is owned by a BR employee and ALOT of the lmild to wild stuff we have built here. Its a great piece.

The reflect-a-cool really is not needed. ALOT of the engine bay heat goes out of the hood vent.

If you have any other questions please feel free to ask. I'll be glad to lend a hand.

Take care!
