ACT Flywheel, who's running it?

I really like the way the act flywheel looks, but i havent read to many people running it...

is this really the actual picture of the act flywheel for the evo 8?

Any issues with the people who are running the act flywheel?

Where did you get it?

how much?

That's the Prolite version. I have the Streetlite and will be putting it in next weekend, before track day. I have the ACT street disc with it, I'm sure it will be the great combo for my setup.

PM Chris @ NoLimitMotorsports. Best price and I searched and searched before buying my combo from him. I had another vendor tell me he couldn't even come close to the deal I got.

I got the street lite with the HDSS for over a year and love it. A lil bit tighter than stock.

well if u are going to get a new clutch then you will prolly not need a new flywheel...but if your really screwed and also need a new flywheel then yes i would get that....why i say u dont need a new flywheel is because your stock one is pretty damn good...just my .02

i run the streetlite. it's nice. i don't know if it's an MR thing or what though, but i have to run without the inspection cover because the flywheel contacts it ever so slightly but enough to make an annoying noise until it's warmed up. the inspection cover may be different on the 5-speed or maybe ACT updated it by now, don't know.

i have had the prolite and the ACT Xtreme for about 4 months now. It makes quite a bit of noise when I decel when it's in gear, but I heard that's just tipical with 03's and this set up. But I could definitly feel a difference in 1st and 2nd with this flywheel. revs so much faster! I think if I did it all over, I might have gone with the Fidanza flywheel instead, but overall I'm happy with the set up.

just curious, but why would you choose the fidanza over the act?

I have heard that with a lightweight flywheel, besides quicker revs, comes increased whp, in exchange for decreased wtq... Any truth to this?

act is a good unit, but if you glaze it or burn up a clutch with it or break a tooth on the ring gear you have to buy a whole new flywheel. Some others out there you don't, like Fidanza, you can get a new ring gear installed for $50, or you can buy a new friction plate and hardware for $50- $60. just fyi
