putting on a turbo timer and tbe? any advice
getting ready to buy some parts on my evo. thinking a turbo timer w/ the harness kit, and AMS turbo back w/ high flow cat. just wondering how much of a ***** it is going to be to installing the downpipe and the turbo timer. any one have any advice before i try to handel this by my self? also what type of hp gains should get out of a tbe?thks
The turbo timer should be very easy to do as long as you have the correct harness.
When doing the turbo back the one thing that stumped the shop I took my car to was the donut gasket on the 02 housing. It's a pita to get off, you need like a pry bar. Also you will most likely not be re-using the spring bolts from the DP. As long as everything lines up and you have a lift, or at least a way of getting the entire car off the ground you should have no problems.

Can't really recommend a turbo timer. I've got a greddy one, but it's been wasted money for me anyway. All you have to do is not push the car hard right before you turn it off and let it idle for like a min. Mine is set on auto and sometimes from just normal driving it climbs up all the way to 8mins. I just end up turning it off.
cheater way to do the turbo timer is to only take off the top of the steering column. then you can get to the ignition harness super easy. saves a ton of time.
dont even have to take it all the way off just unscrew it and move the column all the way down and you will be able to move it around enough to do what you need to do.
TBE couldnt tell you.
