Picking car up....

alright im about to pick the evo up after my act hd clutch install, i have a question about the break-in.

Mostly highway driven, how many miles to break-in?

I know launching is a no-no, but is it ok to boost during break in?

I just got this car 2 weeks ago, and it was in my garage for pretty much 2 weeks after smoking the clutch the first day, so i am deff. ready for some spirited driving.

A new clutch is like a new set of brake pads and rotors........you have to seat them in to get the surfaces to mate up properly. If you stomp on the brakes @ 100+mph the pads arent going to seat properly and work/wear properly. Same goes for the clutch. My understanding is that you are only affecting the clutch when you are taking off and shifting (times when the clutch will be slipped a bit), and other wise when your foot is off the clutch pedal you should be able to have some fun (as long as you dont have 500whp!!), but everyone has their own opinion. I know some guys that say after you drive a half hour in stop-and-go driving that the clutch is seated fine. Up to you, but I woudlnt be launching or banging gears and popping the clutch. Otherwise you should be fine!

a clutch doesnt seat, its not just flopping around in there. Basically just do at least 250 or more city miles aka stop and go and take it from there at your own discresion.
