Stock clutch question...
Ok before yall say anything I have used the search button! lol
Also this is my second evo and I dont post much but I have been a member for almost 2 years. So im not completely dumb...
When I bought my first evo it had a twin disk in it so I was never acquainted with the stock evo clutch until I got my IX... now after some miles, track days and many hard pulls I think it may be time for a new one.
I make 342 WHP on a mustang dyno with basic mods, the clutch feels fine and holds strong with no slipping at all, however I do have a lot of noise @ an idle(sounds like a throw out bearing) and get a lock out or "grind" from 3rd-4th and 4th-5th. But it only "grinds" if I shift too fast. Almost like its not disengaging. So i got a CM stg 4 coming (great price), but I was thinkin maybe I only need an adjustment because it still holds strong... what do you guys think??? I dont want to do the clutch job at my house yet! lol
Any input will help thanks!

I have not heard any good things about the Clutch Masters clutch in the EVO. Just FYI.
Also, you can try to adjust the peddle out a little which may help with clutch disengagement.

well maybe but if i shift right it doesnt happen...
3rd-4th just started to do it, but 4th-5th has been doin it for a while... so not sure, and the fact that it only depends on how fast i shift, like the clutch doesnt disengage and the syncros cant catch up for the shift....

I have the same issue, mine grinds from 4th - 5th, took it to dealer and its the syncros...its under warranty and they will be repairing it sometime next week...mine also has the same noise at idle..i was told it sounded like a throw out bearing.
