Question S-Max intercoolers ? CO2 internally chilled

hey wassup fellas , just wondering if anyone has heard about WWW.SPEEDMAXPERFORMANCE.COM

I saw their booth at SEMA and PRI and was very interested in their intercooler concept .

here is a brief description of their intercooler :

The Speed Max intercooler offers a unique patent pending feature that no other intercooler in the market can offer. Using a fully integrated cooling coil, the Speed Max intercooler is the first and only intercooler to allow its user to cool charge air without ambient airflow. With the use of any cooling agent the use of this intercooler can greatly reduce its temperature throughout use. Just connect your nitrous oxide, CO2, chilled water or any other agent and see horsepower gain instantly.

and here are some pics i found

Pressure drop : @ 1000 CFM , our 22x10x4.5 core had 0.72 pressure drop .

their website is WWW.SPEEDMAXPERFORMANCE.COM

what do you guys think ?

The core doesn't look like it would flow so well but the idea behind the product is pretty cool. If they somehow worked this type of system into a nice garrett core and used a post intercooler temp sensor to monitor and automatically spray the co2 when temps reached above a certain level to keep the system consistent and tuneable it would be pretty sweet.

There still is room to improve on intercooler technology because the cooler the charge temps means you can make the same power with a much larger margin of safety or make a lot more power with the same margin of safety or a mix of the two...

The blue audi S4 and the turbo IS300 that are sponsored by this company have their body work and some other stuff done at the shop I go/hang out at. I have to say that the IS300 is now running a 42R i believe and it runs really strong... the intercooler looks real good and shiny in person, but I have no specs on it...

Well the issue is not where the end tanks are but the amount of space the air has to run through the core. Compair those little holes to the sort of space a normal IC has for air to run through it and it would be like trying to run while breathing through a straw, I would be surprised if that flowed half the CFM of a normal IC of the same dimensions.

they did a pressure drop test on their smallest core @ 1000 CFM and it only had 0.72 pressure drop .

thanks for giving me input guys so I can call them and ask them .

so with that pressure drop test , it seems pretty good right ?

as for CFM , i'll ask them and find out .

keep the input coming guys . thanks
