trouble getting into 3rd gear

Recently I installed a WORKS shifter, base bushings and underhood bushings. Since that installation I'm having a helluva time getting into 3rd gear on occasion. It's like I hit a wall. I have to double clutch it and try again. I've read plenty of 3rd and 5th gear synchro war stories but, since the problem only started after replacing the shifter and bushings, I'm wondering if there's some other issue that just has that same type of symptom. Any ideas?

You need to make sure there is no binding in the cables and adjust if needed.

Should I start under the hood, in the console or both? Also can you describe what you mean by binding?

I've set some time aside today to work on this. It's getting really frustrated. I'm starting to think it's just a coincidence that it all started after replacing the shifter and bushings. I'm now scared it really is a synchro. If it was a kink in the cable or something related to the bushings or shifter, wouldn't it do it all the time? It doesn't do it all the time though...just when I'm aggressively shifting from 2nd to 3rd.

did you change ur clutch recently? change adjustment of clutch pedal?

If so you need to adjust ur clutch pedal again, im guessing u are having a lockout at high rpm shifts

I'm on the stock clutch. I haven't touched anything or made any adjustments to it whatsoever.

High RPM lockout is exactly what it is. Only going from 2nd to 3rd gear though. Even during normal driving the shift feels a little congested...almost like it's rubbing against something.
