Anbody have the Vishnu Stage 0 w/ Downpipe?
Anbody have the Vishnu Stage 0 w/ Downpipe?
I emailed Vishnu about their Stage 0 Kit...
"The $2100 I quoted was for the full exhaust system which includes the downpipe as well as the cat back exhaust. I already have a 93 octane map for the full exhaust as well as the cat back system. The 40 wheel gain is on 91 Octane with the full exhaust system."
I've never heard (at least I think) of anyone talking about this downpipe from Vishnu...anybody have or seen them?
Thanks!

Yep, we've sold quite a few. Here's a new page we just put on-line on our website. Still more updates to follow.

Here's some info:

Dyno results w/ XEDE:

This is a great exhaust if you're looking for something sporty, but not too loud or raspy.

That nice results and everything but if i do decide on a kit mine will not be dyno tuned unless shiv come down to the east coast so I have no idea how much weaker my kit would be and how off my curve would look?
Anyway, i'm still waiting on 1/4 mile time slips with the stage 0 or stage 0 with full exhaust combo

I no longer expect custom tuning to be worth big gains as we now have some pretty nice 93 octane maps that work close to optimally right from the start. At least this has been trend for the last few out-of-state EVOs we've done. While absolute numbers will depend on how strong the particular stock EVO is compared to other stockers, the nominal hp gains have all be consistent. We're seeing 20 wheel hp gains with XEDEs and 10 wheel hp gains with cat-backs for a total of +30 wheel hp with no significant change in boost pressure or lean AFRs. We're seeing Downpipes worth another 10 wheel hp, all other things equal. Currently working on new maps with boost control enabled. So far, we're been able to increase midrange torque substantially without sacrificing any safety margin against knock. The new boost control maps will be on the website when they are ready.
As for drag racing, our own shop car was tested by SCC a couple of weeks ago at Fontana (a pretty bad track) and ran a 13.0 at 108mph on 91 octane fuel. The ET was pretty poor due to a metallic Helix clutch which didn't fully disengage when the clutch was in. According to datalogs, shift time ranged from .7 to 1.0 seconds which is twice as long as a stock EVO which ran, IIRC, a 14.0 at 100mph (it was a hot day). Needless to say, the clutch is no longer in the car. I suspect it cost us a few tenths of a second. Still, it was enough to handily beat the other cars in the competition (Porsche 911 4S, E46 M3 and V8 S4)
It also led the field around Streets of Willow which is what we were really aiming for.Cheers,
shiv

When the maps are completed and online I'll load each one and do a few test dyno pulls at Altered just for kicks and post on here. That way people can compare the base maps on 93 octane to see what to realistically expect as far as gains.

I got to see this exhaust on the car and boy it's really nice and sounds bad ***. I got to see the downpipe off the car and the welds and flex section is just perfect. Very nice stuff. I was wondering if you need to shimmy the bars like you would on other systems out there??
Oh the good new Stage 0 Evo put down 258hp an 260tq. With just the exhaust (cat back) 240 and 240. Very flat TQ all across the board. I think a stock on on the dyno did 223hp and I don't know the TQ but 232 sounds right. So about 17hp gain from the cat back. So a good 35hp wheel gain with stage 0.
I did have the preasure to drive the car after tune and it was very smooth. I really can't comment on it to much because I only got to drive it for like 5 to 6 miles.
Thanks Joe!! for giving letting me drive you Wonderful car.

Most of the tech info at the top as been stolen from the WRX XEDE page but most of it still applies to EVO applications. The bottom part, however, is where the EVO XEDE map database will be. Should be up and running within a few days (just have to gather up, consolidate and review the maps from various out-of-state tuning trips. Then anyone can download them, view and/or download them into the XEDE with the XUpdate freeware.

The XEDE is not plug-in and won't be for another few months. Too much new stuff being developed for it every day to settle down on a fixed harness. If cutting wires is a big problem, we suggest purchases the Field pass-thru harness from vendors such a Z1.
