Im about to buy a evo but i dont want to spend $25,000 on a car that has tranny problems or transfer case problems. are 2005 drivetrains durable? thanks for any help.

 

yes the 05 are very durable our shop car runs 10.9s on the stock t case and transmission.

 

As far as I have seen on the board is the only people having problems with the 05 transmissions are the guys with the 6-speed that are doing a lot of road racing. They are breaking 4th gear. I have a 6-speed and have 30,000 miles with no problem, but then again I have yet to do any road racing. The 5-speed are suppose to be fine until you get into the real high horse power range.
