Spark plugs for Evogreen?
Well i'm looking into changing plugs along w/my full tune up. Should i grab a set of stockers or should i upgrade to something like the NGK iridium BR8EIX? Looking if i should upgrade as well for the evogreen i have on.
Try the NGK BR7ES's, which heat-wise are between BPR7ES's and the BPR8ES's. Gap them at .024-.026". Or use the BR8ES. The BR7ES should be an o.k. plug for the street. If you're gonna be running a lot of boost, then go for the BR8ES's.
I personally run the BR8ES in daily street/highway, low boost, driving and they haven't fouled yet at 3000 miles. Also, my buddy RSimon who does extensive knock logging at high boost levels, loves this BR8ES plug.
The BR series plugs are considered less detonation prone than the BPR series plugs, because they(the BR's) have a non-protruding tip. The protruding tip of the BPR plugs is seen as potentially more likely to preignite the combustion chamber mixture. Additionaly, because of the non-protruding tip, the BR plugs, run a half heat range colder than their numerically equivalent BPR counterpart.
