STI gearing is the ****ty

 

Love the Evos, had to hurt my uncles feelings in his 2007 Shelby GT500

 

Unless you guys dyno'd at the same place and time, those numbers don't mean $hit.

every dyno is different. 300 whp on the buschur MD might go at 375whp on a dynapack somewhere else.

dyno numbers are gay.

STi's never really made 300hp from the factory..

 

that must have been an upgraded turbo on that sti to make those kind of numbers. either that or it was on a super high reading dyno...

and 03 evos didn't make 271 we dyno'd the 3 03's in my town back in 03 and they all made within 5whp on the MD500 2 made 208 and mine made 213 (freak) my car also went 12.8 w/e of suspension.. this dyno read real low. my msp only made 133 on it.

when my buddy got his sti we dyno'd it and it made 233 thats pretty dead nuts on what it should've been

shifting to 5th really kills sti's.

Your post is very uneducated. Auto manufactors cannot get away with over rating their cars what so ever. It would be a very costly mistake to over rate the sold car.. false advertising they would end up giving away a bounch of cars.. look at what happened with the rx8.

 

My good friend has a stage 2 sti on stock turbo and meth and he puts down 290 hp and 315 tq to the wheels. He pulls my other friends Evo 1/2 a car. The Evo has MBC dp, tp and tune.

you are about 500 pounds lighter than a twin turbo supra

 

Actually, its only about 250lbs depending on the model of the EVO. Supras are ~3500lbs give or take 50. EVOs typicall weigh 3263. We are not that much lighter.

 

A few years ago on the same dyno my Evo made 300whp and 290wtq. and my friends STI with meth made 325whp/365wtq. (Same tuner) I took him out 3 time by about 4 car lenghts in 4th. I honestly felt bad for him.

 

Pre 2007, STi gearing sucked. They need lots more power to make up for that.
