I have said all I need to. Everyone needs to buy what they feel is right for them.

I have nothing else to add.

For one it does not look like that kit is plug and play like Buschur's. On the ebay unit I do not see a plug that connects to the stock Evo wiring harness like the Buschur unit. Other than that I do not see a difference but I am not an expert when it comes to ignition.

If this unit was half the price, I would say go for it. But for about 15% less I would prefer the comfort of knowing that the Buschur unit has been thoroughly tested and also will be supported by Buschur's customer service which is second to none.

Kinda off topic but at what point does one need to consider running coil on plug? For example, I am at 26psi with 100% alchy and I have spark blow out problems unless I drop the gap down to 20. Would I be a candidate for COP?

Seriously, for all the price difference, why take the chance? Buschur is proven and will work. Or let's put it this way. You buy from eBay, you help eBay get bigger and no CS. You buy from Buschur, you get it from a vendor that supports evoM, you get outstanding customer service and more importantly you get something that will work %100. So no need to take a chance, you are not buying something for $10.

Thanks Memo! No go to the track! haha

evil, yes you are a candidate but to be honest you may just need to run a better spark plug and a fresh set of plug wires. We have made 500+ on our dyno on the stock ignition if all the stars are aligned right

Not sure if it's been mentioned or noted, but is the box on ebay a Pro 12 (2 channel) or Pro 14 (4 channel). There is a price difference, also there are drag race versions that are more espensive from M&W as well if that was noted.

Not sure which box BR uses, but since it uses the factory wiring for trigger inputs I would bet it's the Pro 12 (2 channel) run in wasted spark mode.

Also, for those of you that were at last years shootout you would have witnessed AMS struggling with their EVO. We went over to them, asked what was wrong, offered them our spare ignition and they set a new personal best. Since them not only do they use our COP they resell them.

The Ebay product is not put together correctly, if you know what you are looking at you can see it in the pictures. Will it work, probably but it is going to have problems.

You can buy ours or the poor knock off on Ebay, make your choice. We've been here doing the same thing, selling parts, developing new parts, supporting the community for 18 years now. We've always been copied and that isn't going to change, I can still hope and pray for bad things to happen to scum that does it though

Have a nice day.

The reality is that those who support ebay mercahnts who copy other companies products design are hurting the future development of quality parts for our cars

To the potential buyer - think what your purchase gets you and why an ebay seller is able to make the part cheaper - (they have no testing - R & D development or leg work ) they simply copy the existing part which has been already developed and thus they can sell it cheaper

The reality is that often the copied part is cheaper and has issues

I had some sadness, anger and frustration when this past weekend a WRX customer who I really liked came in with his newly installed EWG Tial 44 set up and on the first pull the wastegate valve got stuck open

Taking it all apart we soon realized that it was a fake valve

Red this data here on the ongoing issue with Tial Sport products being copied by Chinese e bay sellers

http://www.tialsport.com/realvsfake.html

All I ask is that before you try and get something off ebay to save $200 - think of the questions :

1 - Where will I get tech support

2 - Do I have a warranty

3 - Will my purchase support a vendor who contributes to the development of needed aftermarket parts

4 - Is the part I am buying a direct copy of some other vendor's part

To the OP, the peace of mind should be enough to sway you towards the authentic Buschur ignition. If for some reason you have problems down the road, what then? At least you know Buschur will be there to back up any product they sell.

Also supporting the shops that do the R&D to bring new performance products to the community, in turn, brings more new parts to the community. Some of the extra money you pay goes into developing new parts, without that extra money we dont get those new parts. Get the Buschur ignition.

I am confused! If you got this far in the game to need a COP how in hell is $200 a problem?

I would like to know if the ignition box on Buschur's website is of his own design or if it is in fact an M&W ignition box.
