So Ive read many people asking whether or not a CC is necessary. We'll I guess i'll give my .02 cents on the matter with some evidence.
I run a DC3 Dual Catch can mounted next to my UICP and Light as seen in the pic. Hose is routed to both the PCV side of the Crankcase and the Breather side.

When I first got the CC I would check for oil and would only find a mere "coke cork" full of oil.
This time i left it for almost 1.5 months. Here are the results.


99% of that oil came from the PCV side that goes to the intake manifold.
So I reiterate, that CC can is necessary especially on the PCV side for our cars.
P.S This amount of oil is not reflected as a "huge" loss of oil in terms of our total capacity. For the lamen, excess oil in the intake manifold can translate to lower overall octane of the fuel being used and can cause knock.
Oh and Lastly, Every car is different.

Alot has to do with the Design of the Catch Can. Some catch cans are just designed hollow which hinders them from catching VAPOR. So you end up spending a pretty penny on them and they do shyte.
The DC3 has Aluminum shreds in there that catch the vapor.

I have had the DC3 on both pcv sides and also the breather side. From what Ive seen most of the oil comes from the pcv side. Now in my personal opinion on the breather side as to having a catch can I think its worthless. Unless your a clean freak and want the inside of your turbo and intercooler to look like a mirror. The reason I think that the breather side should be left alone is that the oil actually helps lubricate the moving components in the turbine much like an impact wrench. Also it helps keep EGT's down a bit and over time acts as a buffer to smooth the flow of gases and air when the walls of the downpipe and lower intercooler piping get layered with oil. On the PCV side however a catch can is mandatory on our cars because too much oil passes by there and some will still get in there even with a can but not nearly as much. Just enough to lubricate and keep excess heat down.
pretty darn easy for the install on the DC3's. I found a perfect little spot next to the ABS hydraulic unit right under the tower brace on the pcv side. Just gotta be a little immaginative.

Okay. I had my MAF off the other day, to clean it, and when i looked in the turbo inlet hose, it was pretty dirty. I'm going to get a catch can, but should i use it there, or in the back of the motor on the hose that goes to the manifold. I've heard of people that only do the back one, and not the front.
