clutch problems help!

Hey guys I have a act 6 puck that was recently installed (thought is was the street one (hdss) when i got it off ebay, I was wrong!). Anyways I know the 6 puck is suppose to have a little chatter when you take off but mine isnt chatter it sounds more like a LOUD A** grinding metal or something. The clutch didnt do it when I got it back and actually didnt feel much different then stock. Man I think I really messed up. Any advice, should I just take it out cut my losses and get another clutch? The clutch has about 1k miles on it and has never been launched. Thanks

I just had the act hdss kit with sprung 6-puck installed. For the first 700-800mi. I was miserable because it chattered so much. Now that I have about 1,000 miles on it it drives like stock but with a stiffer feel and 10x more clamping force. I never got any grinding or metal to metal sound like you are talking about. How is the engagement? How about shifting and engagement point? Oh and the guy who said act clutches were crap is a fool by the way. All of us don't have $1,500+ so spend on a twin disc that won't make you any faster.

I think mine is unsprung. Not positive but I think I remember the guy who installed it sayin something about it. The engagement when the car is already up and going is fine, clutch feel is nice and actually not that stiff. Just taking off is a pain because the "chatter" i guess is very loud.

I have a friend with a unsprung and you have to be very careful or it will still chatter 30,000mi later. If you really don't know if it is sprung or unsprung you probably don't need a pucked clutch in the first place. If you don't know how to drive with it you will literally make everything in the car that is solidly bolted down shake and that may be where some of your extra noise is coming from.
