Need EVO-III ECU help (programming)

Hello,

I'm currently searching for some info in regards to the EVO-III ECU. I own a 3000GT and have reason to believe that the EVO-III ECU can be modified (new firmware) to work in a non-turbo 3000GT. This is a big deal as the 3000GT ECU's are non-flashable.

The reason I believe this is because on www.3si.org we have a member with a ralliart ECU that is a "modified EVO-III ECU", according from the previous owner. This ralliart ECU with cam gears and underdrive pully has resulted in a ~25% increase in HP on this particular car (dyno proven)!

I have started a thread here:

http://www.3si.org/portal/forums/sho...postid=1478721

Does anybody on here by chance know anything about EVO-III Ecu's? Ideally I'd like to find a picture of the internals to see how different of a PCB layout (if any) the EVO one has.

Thanks in advance,
Ted

Are you talking about having a 4cyl Turbo ECU run a 6cyl Non Turbo Engine?

Thanks for the link!

Yes, the 4 cyl. turbo in the 6 NA. I know it sounds crazy but supposedly one of our 3s.org members has a Ralli-Art ECU (he's posted pics) that is just this. He was told Ralli-Art used the EVO-III ECU as the basis for his 3K NA ECU. I'm not sure how they got around the one transistor being missing for cyl. 5 and 6. I'm wondering if there simply isn't a spot on the board to solder the extra one on and/or it already comes with 3 but uses 2. If it's a generic design and uses the same microprocessor then this seems like a possible project...

Thanks,
Ted
