ive got 23000 miles on my 03 evo 8 and had the dealer to a clutch install at 22200 miles. it looked great untill at about 22500 miles the pressure plate died on mi. (i learned how to drive stick on this car probably why that happened) took it to the dealer again, got it fixed, and drove it. (i had the hang of stick shift by this time) much smother but catches pretty hard. i had trouble getting smooth shift. at this time... from time to time i would hear a pretty loud clank when shifting in between 1st and 2nd gear. at first i thought it was the way i was driving but now after about 2 months (with some pretty good smooth shifting skills) it still makes that noise from time to time onli between 1st and 2nd gears. i shift at about 25000 to 35000 miles to keep the turbo from spooling up which is what a guy from the dealer told me i should do to try and save some gass. Do you think its me or is it the car? if it is mi can someone give me some tips on what im doing wrong? not many stick drivers around in my area so i kinda had to learn how to drive stick off of what the dealer guys sayed and i dont want to have to pay 52 dollars to have them inspect my car only to find out ive been driving wrong lol.

 

adjust your clutch pedal i little higher(search is your first friend) evomoto.com has some instrucciones on how to do it.
