What's wrong with both? I'm at the same crossroads. I of course know meth far outways the cams but I eventually want to do both as well as port everything.

Nothing is wrong with using both, but both wasn't one of the answers to choose from.

This thread was asking what will make more power for him, meth or cams, and on just about any potential car/setup out there Meth will add more power.

Gotcha. Off topic.....what would be a typical gain for a full bolt on IX adding S1's, meth, and ported In and Ex manifolds, hotside, and TB tuned?

You mean over stock, right? I'm already tuned with full bolt ons minus what was mentioned about adding. I just meant the gain over those things added. Sorry about that.

I would get cams.. personally you can easily.. turn up the boost with just putting in racing gas.. I'm guessing you're tight on a budget and getting cams with race gas gives you both things at a fraction of the cost.. I personally would stay away from meth.. but that's just my opinion..

+1 on getting cams. I've just heard too many bad stories with meth ( blown up engines, washed cylinder walls, etc.), and yes I do know that there are precautional measures that you can take to avoid these problems. IMHO go with cams and run race gas when you need to.

But... More power = Meth

Who/where has experienced washed cylinder walls?

I personally will never run meth just curious.
