downpipe,test pipe

im new to to the forum so please excuse me. i have an 05 EVO VIII mods are injun intake with IC piping, greddy BOV, and 3"HKS catback. I want to add a a down pipe and test pipe. My question is will a Helix TP and the CEL fix that comes with it and the Helix DP be a good combo? or will there be difficulties connecting the Helix and the HKS together? i plan on buying them from Gruppes. Please help.

As long as you get a ACD downpipe ie for a 05-06 you are fine. If the catback fit the stock cat then any downpipe for that year will fit with the rest of your exhaust.

well if you are going to buy from Gruppe S, why don't you call them up and ask them?

the reason i dont call is due to my past experience with aftermarket company's just telling you want you want to hear. do they have a pretty good tech support section?

I'm sure that Gruppe-S is giving you a good deal, however, it doesn't hurt to do a search and compare price, quality and fitment before spending $325+. Why not look into the DC Sports DP which combines DP and TP into a one-piece design. I am not sure on current pricing, but they cost about $225 when I purchased mine.

Alot louder. Mainly just the test pipe will make it loud. I sacrifice 10whp just to not **** everyone off, and no drone.

cool, the deal is there very few Evos' here in Albuquerque. And im new here so dont have any peeps with Evos' so im getting all my info from you guys.

Yeah im happy with my HKS catback system is great but need a lil more sound out of it.

Another quicj question. Will a 3in DP and TP be too much as in not producing enough back pressure for the mods i all ready have. I dont want to get a 3in just because i can say i have a 3in?

the diameter of an exhaust is not an issue with a turbo car, dont worry about backpressure at all. and also, check the links that the person posted earlier, 500wph.com is selling the helix downpipe for less than gruppe-s, but selling the testpipe for more.

i have the DC sports that incorporates the DP and test pipe into 1 and i like it alot. It did make the exhaust sound a little bit louder and its not raspy at all.

I will actually have a DC Sports downpipe for sale here pretty soon as I will be selling my car and parting off all my mods.
