Went back to OEM exhaust...left the rest of performance parts untouched

I know, I know, it may not make any sense to go this way but I've had it with loud noises coming from the full 3" exhaust system, and I had one of the quietest (Greddy Evo II). I started hating my Evo to a point were I wasn't driving the car at all (about 400 miles in the last 6 months). So, I sold my DP, test pipe (I'm using a hi-flow cat) and catback, and let me tell you, I'm starting to like my Evo again. Now I can drive long distances without having to use my iPod isolators.

The downside? Spool-up. I haven't noticed a big power loss but now I get max spool-up at 3200rpm instead of 2700-2800.

Here's my question: My mods are UICP, LICP, 272/264 cams, intake, Ecutek and FP. The car was tuned WITH the full exhaust system. Can this be a potential realiability issue in the near future? The car has 16k miles and is bulletproof reliable.

I'd appreciate your inputs.

Thanks!

Serge

your tune is used to a much more free flowing exhaust

yes it will definitely effect your tune...to what degree I am unsure

you're likely to be hanging out in some of the lower load columns where the fuel/timing is different than what you were previously tuned for. It's worth talking a look into it.

Thanks for the inputs

Unfortunately I'm in Germany and there's no way I can have a professional tuner have a look at it. At least I left the high flow cat in there, so it's not as restrictive as the OEM system. The car still pulls like a beast on top of being pretty quiet and vibration-free, I love it. I'll keep it for 1-2 years until I get a new C6, hands down the best replacement for the EVO, imho.

You will almost defenitly be getting increased knock counts. The stock exhaust will increase back pressure and will most likely cause knock at your current level of tune.
