Another upgrade option im thinking about is a new intercooler for my 05 EVO. What advantages would i see. as i stated before all i got is intakr , catback bov , just ordered DP and TP. Im running stock turbo and stock boost. So would an intercooler really do anything.

Id say get a new IC once your pushing 400+ hp, it can never hurt, the bigger IC will force cooler air into the intake mani thus increasing hp.

 

usually people do an intercooler (BR Deluxe has licp also) at the same time as cams. then get a fuel pump and a custom tune.

get a fuel pump first its so easy and cheap and tuners wont give you a look of disgust when you bring it to him for a road tune.

 

dont waste your money unless you live in a very hot place. IMHO, after the basics + cams, its not worth wasting money on a stock turbo car.

 

What is the going rate to have CAMS put in my car?

 

get a fuel pump, 02 housing, mbc or ebc and intercooler upper and lower pipes, then flash your car

 

^^^ cost me $200 for cam install at my local Evo garage...

 

get cams you will proably lose tourqe with your mods and a bigger intercooler

 

what is a mbc and a ebc? What would a 02 housing due for me? as i have been in japan for the last 8 yrs so all these achronyms are all new to me. Evo's are not too popular over there due to the Skyline GTR and SR20DET's. All the help is awsome though, thanks

 

MBC - Manual boost controller
EBC - Electronic boost controller

Get a forge or hallman MBC to control your boost.
you can get a good o2 housing off of ebay.. Look there!
like everyone says, get yourself the basics, manifold, o2 housing, cams, before you look into a bigger intercooler, which then if you are still on the stock turbo i reccommend the Turbo XS intercooler.

The choice is up to you, but get a MBC , your manifold ported, get cams the o2 housing and a custum tune..

what is the 02 housing for? but yeah your right i really didnt plan on buying a new IC due to the numerouse items i need. I was curiouse why some people upgrade to a bgger IC. But about a MBC, ae they dangerouse as in very hard to accuratly control? just going off of what i heard . i know they are alot cheaper than EBC.
