Do you guys think that if I got a Universal muffler and had a exhaust shop put on a cat-back if that would be effective as opposed to buying a full exhaust. Wouldn't it be the same thing?

if its mandrel bent then it would be very similar to other "name brand" exhaust. - they all basically follow the same obvious route and are 3 inches in diameter. pipe quality and clamp quality set them apart. kink bent would not be a good idea. also an exhaust made from ubends would also be similar to mandrel bent and would work fine as well.

you wont know what its gonna sound like and you will be the first to do it - these are the things to think about when getting a custom exhaust.

 

Sounds like a good idea. The main thing you should be looking for is a shop that actually has a 3" pipe bender. So far here in broward, I've only heard of ONE, yes jsut one shop that actually has one. So make sure you can actualyl find a shop that has your specifications.

 

I am getting custom exhuast done next week. I bought the carbon-to HKS muffler and a RMR downpipe and the exhasut shop will do the rest and take off the cat with 3" andrel belt tubing

You guys should pm my brother, rt turbo, because he custom made a turbo back exhaust with a shop. It's 3" and mandrel bent, and it has a high flow cat installed along w/ a really sweet HKS titanium muffler. It looks and sounds great!
