From the symptoms you are describing it seems your clutch is not fully disengaging causing you to grind at higher rpms. Do a search on "clutch pedal adjustment", I am confident you will find your answer there ... A lot of people had the same problem you are describing and they had to adjust where their clutch fully disengaged.
Also make sure you properly bled your clutch line and don't have any air bubbles in the system. Goodluck ...

If 5th gear is grinding and you have good fluid in, they didn't fix the problem. No one does the shame job as shep, except shep (maybe TRE). They probably didn't check the engagement length on the 5th/reverse fork or maybe they didn't even change the synchro's (who knows). This is what you get when you trust a no name shop to try to save a buck. Take the transmission out and send it to shep and get it over with. Try to get your money back from the shop, I doubt they will give a refund.

okay sorry i started two threads i just wanted to make sure that the topic got seen.
I dont need to do a search on clutch pedal adjustment. I know how to do one. I did one when i reinstalled the tranny with the new clutch. I increased the travel of the pedal since i put a twin disc in. So why would i increase the travel even more now after the clutch has been in for about 3000 miles and is starting to do this. And why would it only be 5th gear and not the rest if that is the problem? I will try another pedal adjustment though since you think that might be the problem.
I have the same issue but only shifting into 4th. I first had a 3rd gear grind before I switched to BG Synchroshift II & adjusted my clutch pedal. I actually ended up adjusting it inward instead of outward to rid the grind. In return I have a 4th gear grind but only at high rpms no matter how I adjust my clutch pedal. I've also switched to Redline MT-90 fluid. I'm hoping it's a problem w/the clutch not fully disengaging or my clutch line not being properly bled before I say it's the synchros.
