HKS EVC not regulating boost?

Guys,

Need some advice... just recently upgraded my turbo and now have an external wastegate on the new setup... I'm going to post some info on that later.. at the moment... I stumped because my EVC isnt doing what I want it to do. I have a feeling its either my BOV (Greddy Type-S) or something is wrong with the EVC. The EVC is setup for external wastegate.

Wierd thing is... I get the same boost no matter at what setting I put the EVC at. The only thing I can do to modify my max boost level is to crackdown on the Type-S. If I crank it down all the way (bad, obviously). I can get 23-24 PSI. If I let it at a normal level, I'll get 22psi.

Wierd thing is - if I have the EVC at say gain level 2, I still get the same amount of boost!

Would you say this is a problem with how the EVC is connected or could it the the valve?

Or worse - both?

Sounds like an issue with your BOV. Cranking down on the BOV should not result in a boost increase, unless you had a massive leak to begin with.

Also, what wastegate and spring pressure are you using? You need to determine what your base boost pressure is (with the boost controller off), and setup the EVC accordingly. It outlines this pretty clearly in the instruction manual, so it should be easy to setup.

Wastegate comes pre-loaded with a 1bar spring.

I have the same issue, but I'm using a stock BOV and Stock turbo and I wont boost more than 0.80 bar. No matter how much or how little gain I set it to. I checked all the connections and it doesn't seem to be leaking.
