Why are Evo8's quiet and 9's loud with walbros?

We have four Evos at the house between my roommates and I. hahaha, yeah, we all own Evos.

But one thing we noticed is that the two 8's with walbros were quiet, and the two 9's were loud. Anyone have an explanation for this?

Pics later of the driveway. Our neighbors think it's hilarious that we have the same cars, all different colors.

Used to have an 8 with a Walbro, and it was quiet. Now I have a 9, and I can definitely hear it whining away in the back.

Good question, BTW.

The 9's do have a plastic mat between the metal and the seat cushion.

i think it just depends on ur luck.... my walbro isn't too bad... i cant hear it at all with the seat on.....

The pad and rear seat do a very good job insulating the sound on my car.

Cheers!

Here's a longshot: maybe they changed the metal around the top of the tank, or maybe they change something with the interior?

All I can think, is that maybe it's a different material?

I can hear my Walboro in my 8. However, only at certain times.

Thanks guys. We're all probably going to be ripping two of the evos apart so we'll take a good look at the insulation and fule tank area.
